Comments

When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.

An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. See the Gravatar privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture may be publicly visible in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website can download and extract location data from images.

Cookies

  • If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies. These last for one year.
  • If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
  • When you log in, we set cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days, and screen options cookies last one year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login persists for two weeks. Logging out removes login cookies.
  • If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved indicating the post ID of the article you edited. It expires after one day and contains no personal data.
